Read on to learn about why I love being an acupuncturist, what got me into acupuncture in the first place, what my clients are saying, and where you can find me.
Hi, I’m Abbey!
I graduated from Pacific Rim College with a Diploma of Acupuncture with Honours. I recently relocated to the Comox Valley from Victoria. I have a passion for holistic medicine and I am thrilled to be practicing acupuncture in the Comox Valley.
I started to get acupuncture when I was 12 years old to manage pain from sports injuries. I was so excited to be pain free and be able to continue to play water polo for many years. As a young athlete competing at a national level, it was critical for me to be in top physical shape and to have a strong mental game as well. It wasn’t until I began seeing an acupuncturist and TCM practitioner that I started to thrive. Not only was my pain improved, my sleep, emotional state and digestion benefited as well. In high school, I decided to pursue a career in Acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine. Ever since, I have been devoted to studying this incredible medicine and continue to be amazed by the incredible benefits of acupuncture and TCM.
I have a passion for working with women to optimize health. Every person is unique, and there is no one size fits all in Chinese medicine. By creating individual treatments, I'm able to simultaneously treat the presenting symptoms and the underlying cause of disease. I strive to encourage the body's innate healing ability to return to a healthful state. My goal as an acupuncturist is to work with a client to create a personalized treatment plan, give individualized acupuncture treatments and offer lifestyle advice that will work for them. This approach allows for optimal healing and recovery.
I strive to create a calm, relaxing environment for my patients to feel safe and heard. My gentle, attentive approach offers relaxation and graceful healing. I aim to empower women to take control of their wellness journey.
In my spare time you will find me studying herbal medicine, gardening, doing arts and crafts, hiking, stand up paddle boarding and exploring all the Valley has to offer!
